Embrace Your Passion
I uncovered my passion for music during my first exposure to the piano at a neighbor's home. I was only 7 years old when I heard their old player piano playing "Moonlight Over Vermont." A quiet but studious kid, I placed my fingers on the moving keys and one day, I played the song on my own, stunning my parents and their friends. My parents purchased that piano, on which I began my first lessons. By the the time I was 11 years old, I was playing Sunday morning services at the local Nazarene Church, and involved in music both in school and out. My love for music began to grow early!
Live Life in Song
With many opportunities to continue in music, I finished college, taught private piano, and performed all over the Midwest, before becoming a husband and father. As my family grew, I knew the dream of keeping my gifts alive would continue when my first daughter, Suzi began singing with Marilyn and I at the age of 6. The others followed suit and the "Singing Proctor Family" hit the road.
Be Inspired by Everything
After 13 years, we stopped doing weekly concerts, settled in M'Boro Tennessee, and still attend Church at World Outreach Church. We teach weekly Bible Study, have monthly 'get togethers' at our home, continuing the rich heritage of Christian music and song. Even over the age of 80 years old, I find incredible inspiration all around me. I still try to make my music representative of myself and my generation. I love the genres that most people don't give a second glance these days, especially the Hymns. That is why I have chosen to play them for my audience and my friends.
